Buffalo area's first Chick-Fil-A now hiring

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The first Chick-Fil-A to be opened in the Buffalo region is now hiring, though company officials still won't say when the fast food restaurant will open.

A large "Now Hiring" banner is draped across the front of the restaurant on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga."Chick-Fil-A" signage has also been added to the building. The location's franchisee, who was not authorized to speak to News 4 on camera, said tables will be delivered some time next week.

"I heard it's pretty good, so I'm excited," said Cheektowaga resident Lisa Kross as she walked by Monday afternoon.

Kross is one of several Western New Yorkers anxious for the restaurant to open.

"We don't have an exact date to share yet, but we are very excited to join the Cheektowaga community and have a goal of opening in Q4," said Jackie Jags, external communications representative for Chick-Fil-A.

Cheektowaga Town Supervisor Diane Benczkowski was not available to give an update on progress at the construction site. A second Chick-Fil-A is also planned on Transit Road near Losson Road in Cheektowaga.
