Buffalo police and city officials prepare for Allentown Art Festival weekend

Local News

Hundreds of artists will be set up along Delaware Avenue, and other streets in the Allentown District this weekend, but there’s a small change this year.

City officials say, it’s business as usual, except, they’ll have to navigate around a bit of construction. There’s a section of Allen Street, near the medical campus, that you won’t be able to shop on.

Road work is happening between Main and North Pearl Streets, but officials say it won’t get in the way of this weekend’s festivities.

The only difference is that, people will see is that block on Allen Street, between Main and North Pearl, won’t have any booths. There will still be pedestrian access, said Mike Finn department of public works.

Nearly 400 artists and vendors from across the US and Canada will be there- displaying their wares.

There’ll be sculptures, glass art, paintings, photography and jewelry.

Everyone’s looking forward to getting out, it’s a beautiful weekend, said Joe Gramaglia deputy police commissioner, City of Buffalo Police department. So, we’re hoping for some good sized crowds and everyone to have a good time this weekend.
