Buffalo State cuts ribbon at new Alumni & Visitor Center

Local News

A new building at Buffalo State College will welcome in prospective students and welcome back alumni.

School officials cut the ribbon on their new Alumni & Visitor Center on Thursday.

The center is named after Jacqueline Vito LoRusso. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Buffalo State.

Making the new visitor’s center a reality took a team effort.

“Many great things are done through collaboration,” Buffalo State President Dr. Katherine Conway-Turner said. “Many great things are done through partnerships. Many great things require people to work together for it to happen, and this building is such a thing.”

LoRusso was a longtime teacher in western New York, and has been on the Buffalo State Board of Directors since 2010.
