Buffalo Diocese bankruptcy filing “imminent”

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)–The Buffalo Catholic Diocese could file bankruptcy soon.

An independent auditor says this is because of the magnitude of claims, lawsuits, and alleged damages against the diocese.

A filing under Chapter 11 is likely to have some effect on those making claims under the Child Victims Act since the window opened nearly six months ago.

There’s no other indication, exactly when the diocese would file for bankruptcy.
