Investigators trying to determine if fireworks were involved in Hillside Ave. fire


BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo fire crews responded to a fire on Hillside Ave. shortly after 4 a.m. Friday morning.

The two-alarm fire began on the upper floor of the occupied home.

It’s not clear what caused the fire, but investigators are trying to see if fireworks were involved.

No injuries were reported, but damage, which included a partial roof collapse, was estimated at $215,000.

Officials also say a nearby structure suffered approximately $30,000 in exposure damage.
