BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)–On-site security for the Buffalo Zoo reported a small outdoor fire in the former outdoor habitat for the elephants at 5:20 p.m. Monday.
According to a spokesperson for the zoo, Buffalo Fire responded to the call and extinguished the fire quickly.
There are no injuries to report.
Officials say the cause of the fire appears to be caused by minor demolition work taking place earlier in the day.
Restoration of the area will begin soon, and the zoo will be open for normal hours tomorrow.
Buffalo Zoo says there is no further information to share at this time.
