BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Niagara Square has reopened after a man was rescued Wednesday evening from a ledge on Buffalo City Hall.

Just after 4 p.m., the man was spotted 23 stories above the ground. Members of the Buffalo Police Crisis Management Team negotiated with the man for almost four hours.

He was rescued just after 8:40 p.m. when Buffalo Fire attached a harness to the man and pulled him through a window on the 23rd floor, according to Buffalo Police.

The man was taken to Erie County Medical Center for evaluation.

The Buffalo Police Behavioral Health Team also assisted.
