California company wants to build solar facility in Niagara County

CAMBRIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Wednesday in Niagara County, people are invited to learn more about plans for a giant solar power project.

Cypress Creek Renewables, from California, wants to use about 900 acres in Cambria and Pendleton to build the facility.

They say it would provide enough renewable electricity to power up to 20,000 homes and help offset carbon dioxide emissions.

The first public meeting is on the campus of NCCC in Sanborn from 4-7 p.m.

Those who wish to attend can go to Room E-107.

Another meeting is set for Thursday night at the Cambria Fire Hall on Cambria-Wilson Rd.
