JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Chautauqua County Department of Health is aware of about 50 people who have reported symptoms of vomiting and/or diarrhea after eating at the McDonald's in Jamestown from July 29 to Aug. 21.
The health department said that the cause of the illness has not been determined at this time, but is performing an investigation in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health and McDonald's representatives.
"There is currently no evidence that the illness can be spread from person to person," the health department said in a press release on Friday. "The McDonald’s establishment has been fully cooperative, and remains voluntarily closed to clean and comply with all Health Department recommendations".
Anyone who may have visited the McDonald's, located at 2803 N. Main Street Ext. in Jamestown between July 29 and Aug. 21 and experienced vomiting and/or diarrhea shortly after eating there can call the Chautauqua County Health Department at 716-753-4483 or email email@example.com.
