A Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K9 has some new protective gear, thanks to a former Jamestown resident.
Cynthia Miley Evans, who now lives in Pennsylvania, and her husband David donated a new bulletproof, stab-resistant vest the to sheriff’s office K-9 unit on behalf of their seven nieces and nephews.
The vest will be used by K9 Bentley, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois Shepherd.
Bentley is the newest four-legged member of the K9 unit and hadn’t yet been equipped with a protective vest.
As a surprise “thank you” to the Evanses, the entire K9 unit arrived at the family’s Jamestown residence on Christmas Day to thank them in person.
