CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A young Cheektowaga boy fighting cancer received an amazing gift.

Four-year-old Alex Tingly was diagnosed with leukemia in December.

His family reached out to the Make-a-Wish Foundation to go to Disney World, but his doctor said he couldn’t go.

Leaders with the company PuppySpot decided to step in and donate a puppy to Alex.

Alex’s mother says it was an amazing gift for a special child.

Alex has named his new dog “Blue” after the dinosaur in the Jurassic Park series.
