Counselors to assist Buffalo Police in new program

Local News

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A Cheektowaga organization will work with Buffalo Police to help officers on calls with mental health or substance abuse concerns.

Endeavor Health Services will provide social workers for these specific situations. This is all to encourage diversion instead of arrests and jail sentences.

The program will be paid for through grants from the “Mother Cabrini” health foundation.
