CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB)– UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Eastern Hills Mall provided an update to last night’s fire at the former Bon-Ton site.

Mall officials say the fire was reported at 9:45 p.m. Monday night, and contained to a 15′ x 15′ portion of the roof.

The space is currently in the process of being reconstructed to become a Raymour & Flanigan store.

No injuries were reported, there was no damage to other mall property, and the mall is open for normal hours of business.

“We are grateful to the firefighters for responding quickly to contain and extinguish the fire and to the mall security officers and operations employees for controlling the environment. Both entities did so in a safe and professional manner,” said Jill Pawlik, spokesperson for the mall’s owners.

ORIGINAL: Crews are fighting a fire at the Eastern Hills Mall right now. The two-alarm blaze broke out at the old Bon-Ton store.

Raymour and Flanigan is planning on taking over that space.

There’s no word on how much damage has been done or how close crews are to putting out the fire.

We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
