BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Curtain Up is the biggest week of the year for our local theaters in Western New York. This year, it’s extra special for Road Less Traveled Productions.
Not only are they debuting the world premiere of a new show by a local playwright during the opening night of local theater season on Friday night, they will also be showcasing their new theater.
Over the summer, Road Less Traveled Productions moved from its original home in the Main Street Arcade building to 500 Pearl Street, which once was the Fraternal Order of the Eagles gentleman’s club. The ninety seat is now set up where there was once a ballroom.
“It’s a grand space, and we’ve made it our new home,” said Artistic Director Scott Behrend. “Better sight lines, more legroom, more wing space, more stage space. It’s certainly an upgrade all across the board from our previous space at the Market Arcade.”
Road Less Traveled opened the new theater with Speed of Light last weekend. Performances run through October 4th, with a special show this Friday night as part of Curtain Up.
