MACHIAS, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police have arrested a man following an investigation that stemmed from a cyber tip.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children informed police of possible criminal activity.
A search warrant was executed at the home of 47-year-old Robert Scott Donovan of Machias, according to police.
Following the investigation, Donovan faces felony charges of third degree rape, promoting a sexual performance by a child, disseminating indecent material to a minor in the first degree and criminal sex act in the second and third degree.
Donovan is additionally charged with misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful dealing with a child in the first degree and criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree.
He was arraigned in Machias Town Court and is being held on bail in the Cattaraugus County Jail.
