Demolition work to begin Monday morning to remove part of Niagara Scenic Parkway

NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - Demolition work is scheduled to begin on Monday morning to remove a portion of the Niagara Scenic Parkway in Niagara Falls, the state Department of Transportation said in a news release. The Niagara Scenic Parkway was formerly known as the Robert Moses Parkway. 

This work will result in a new road closure.

According to the news release, Whirlpool Street, between Cleveland Street and Chestnut Street, will be closed to through traffic starting on February 11 at 7 a.m. until further notice.

Local traffic only will be permitted and motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour, the DOT said.   

NEXUS users looking for access to the Whirlpool Bridge Plaza should use Depot Street West.
