BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – ‘Tis the season to have a sweet tooth! The holidays are one of the busiest times of year for local bakeries, and Western New York’s pastry chefs are gearing up for the annual rush.

At Dessert Deli in Williamsville, the staff is expecting to sell more than 38 thousand cut-out cookies in the month of December alone. That’s on top of the hundreds of specialty cakes, pies, and other desserts they prepare each week.

Dessert Deli’s Maryann Guest, who is also an instructor at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, recently showed News 4 how she ices and decorates cakes as part of “Wake Up’s” Do Your Job segment.
