BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Multiple firefighters were injured while battling a fire on Buffalo's East Side Thursday night.
A Buffalo Police spokesperson says four firefighters were injured, suffering burns. One suffered burns to his hands and arms, and another suffered less severe burns.
Two of the firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation.
Two of the firefighters have been released from ECMC, but the two others remain there.
The firefighter whose hands and arms were burned is in stable condition, and the other firefighter at the hospital is remaining there for observation and evaluation.
The fire started at a home on Butler Avenue near East Ferry Street and Route 33.
Firefighters say the fire started on the second floor and spread to the attic. Its cause was electrical in nature.
No civilians were injured.
