Economics expert weighs in on Tops vs. Teamsters dispute

Local News

The ongoing dispute between Tops Friendly Markets and the Teamsters Union reached new heights this week as the grocery chain tries to dig itself out of bankruptcy.

Tops announced it used the money it had set aside to pay for union pension funds to instead pay off its growing debt and for operations.

Fred Floss, chair of the economics and finance department at Buffalo State College, stopped by News 4 on Thursday to discuss the legality of the move, as well as the options for Teamsters.
