Local News

Erie County’s Domestic Violence High-Risk Team will receive $900,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Justice Department.

The funding will be used to expand several programs across Erie County.

“Be Safe is a collaborative effort by the Erie County DA’s Office, the Erie County Department of Probation, the Buffalo Police Department, Child and Family Services Haven House, and the International Institute of Buffalo to reduce and respond to the incidents of domestic violence here in Erie County,” Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said during a press conference Wednesday.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
