29-year-old man dead, hit by vehicle while crossing East Robinson Rd in Amherst

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 29-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle crossing the road Thursday night in Amherst.

The Amherst Police Department says a 65-year-old man from North Tonawanda was driving west on East Robinson Road hit the 29-year-old pedestrian around 8:25 p.m.

The 29-year-old was declared dead at the scene from his injuries, according to police.

Police say he was crossing the street on the 3800 block of East Robinson when he was struck by the 2021 Chevy.

No charges have been filed at this time and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.

We’re told the identities of those involved are being withheld at this time, allowing for the family to be notified.
