GM’s Tonawanda plant shutting down Friday amid outbreak

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — GM’s Tonawanda engine plant is shutting down Friday evening, probably through at least the end of the month.

News 4 confirmed a letter sent to workers told them Friday’s second shift will be the last for the time being.

The union and plant director say there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus at the Tonawanda engine plant.
