WATCH: Erie County officials encourage winter preparation

Erie County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Erie County officials want to remind you that winter is almost here and now is the time to get ready.

County Executive Mark Poloncarz says there are five new plow trucks joining the fleet this year.

It gives each district 10 plows to clear the snow when big storms hit.

“We’re prepared for any and everything that weather can come. We want to make sure everyone else is prepared. We know its coming, snow has already fallen in our region. It will only be a matter of time before it hits the entire western new york region. We know how to handle snow, we know how to handle winter and we can handle it better if everyone else is prepared as well,” Poloncarz said.
