Families gathered in Buffalo on Sunday for a back-to-school celebration.
The event held at the Edward Saunders Community Center aimed to help families get the supplies they need for the first day back in the classroom.
Students of all ages had the chance to play games, eat, as well as receive free hair cuts and clothes.
“Not everyone has 25 dollars in their account or 50 dollars in their account,” says Councilman Rasheed N.C. Wyatt. “Some people are paycheck to pay check and that pay check is gone just like that. So this is our way, again making sure that kids are ready for the first day of school and learning with the supplies they need to learn.”
The American Medical Response was also on site to discuss job opportunities and give CPR demonstrations.
