Family identifies victim in Gallatin Avenue shooting

Local News

Buffalo Police are investigating to see if any foul play was involved after a body was left on a  random person’s porch.

They’re investigating what led up to someone finding a man’s body on a porch on Gallatin Avenue early Tuesday morning

Investigators say a man was shot after some kind of incident.

It’s not clear where the shooting happened but police believe it wasn’t far from where the body was found.

Police haven’t released the man’s name but family members identify the man as 21-year-old Hasan Jefferson.

“All I want to know is that my baby didn’t suffer, and they said he didn’t,” Jefferson’s mother, Valerie Burzynski says.

Burzynski also said she had just come back into town Monday and found out later her son was killed.

She says her son was funny and a loving father and protector to his 5-month-old baby girl.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral expenses.

“The love is so overwhelming, I think that’s what’s keeping me together,” Burzynski said.

She’s thankful for the community’s support during this tough time.

Police are looking at any surveillance video and city cameras in the area.

Authorities tell News 4 they are making progress on the case.
