Ferry Street Bridge repaired

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A bridge which blocked two famed ships on their way to dock in Tonawanda has been fixed, officials say.

Officials say they ordered a part for the bridge and a repair thereafter worked. Although it’s still not open to cars or foot traffic, it will now be able to make way for boats which need to get by.

Last week the bridge malfunctioned and kept the Nina and Pinta waiting long enough that they found a new location to dock for their stay.

The two boats will remain docked at the Erie Basin Marina until Tuesday.
