(WIVB) - The former executive director of the Erie County Water Authority says the embattled agency owes him $300,000- and he's willing to sue to get it.
Earl Jann, who was fired by the water authority in June in the wake of a blistering state report, says he made to be a scapegoat and that the termination damaged his reputation.
Republicans promoted Jann from Water Authority Executive director to its chairman when they held power in the county legislature. The power shifted this year, and Democrats now hold the majority- on the legislature and on the water authority.
The report, released by the state's budget office, found the water authority spent thousands of taxpayer dollars with little concern or discussion.
Jann has said he is owed severance and benefits worth over $300,000.
