Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is stepping back into his former sport this week, on the entry list for the USA Track and Field Championships.
Goodwin is on the list to take part in the long jump, the same event he took part in for Team USA in the Olympics in 2012. Since then, though, Goodwin concentrated solely on football.
His roster spot could be up in the air this season. Despite some very positive reviews from new head coach Rex Ryan, the wide receiver position has quite a bit of depth, which could leave Goodwin fighting for a job in training camp.
Coincidentally, if he jumps well enough to earn a medal this week, he would earn a spot on Team USA for the World Championships – which take place in August during the NFL preseason.
