Groundbreaking ceremony to take place for new veterans memorial in Clarence

Local News

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Monday morning in Clarence, there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for a new veterans memorial.

The memorial will be constructed at the Main Street Town Park, and feature the names of all the Clarence residents who were killed while serving in the U.S. Military, along with large granite honor walls.

It was inspired by the passing of Clarence native Captain Andrew Byers, who was killed in Afghanistan in November 2016.

Next Memorial Day, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the memorial will take place.
