School officials and lawmakers came together in South Buffalo on Monday to break ground on Medaille College’s new sports complex, located on Elk Street at the former Buffalo Color site.
The $4 million project will redevelop the site and serve as a field for the college’s soccer and lacrosse teams.
The complex will also feature an indoor field, offices, classrooms, and more.
State Sen. Tim Kennedy says the new site will be an improvement for the entire neighborhood.
“This is truly a gem in our community that everyone will be able to take advantage of,” Kennedy said.
The new outdoor field is expected to be complete by October. Construction on the indoor field is set to start after.
