Human remains found at scene of fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — UPDATE: Buffalo Fire officials say additional human remains were located this afternoon at the scene on Elmwood Avenue.

Elmwood Avenue has been reopened between Bird Avenue and Forest Avenue.

ORIGINAL: Suspected human remains have been discovered at the scene of the Elmwood Ave. fire, which broke out Wednesday morning.

They were found at 8:41 a.m. on Thursday. The same K-9 was used to find the body of Rudy Ray Rockett last year.

Three people were injured in the fire, and one person has not been accounted for — 55-year-old Curtis Brown.

It is not clear if the suspected remains are those of Brown.

One 60-year-old is in fair condition, and another is in stable condition. A 40-year-old man is in good condition.

The cause of the fire is not clear.
