Actor and director John Krasinski is in Western New York scouting possible film locations for a new movie.
Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark confirms that Krasinksi and a Paramount production crew are looking for where they’ll shoot the sequel to A Quiet Place.
The 2018 movie was also shot upstate in Dutchess, Ulster, and Herkimer counties.
Fans were surprised to see him stop at Candy Apple Cafe in Akron Wednesday afternoon.
Recently, it’s been City of Buffalo has seen a lot of interest from movie production companies due to its unique architectural backdrop, but this time the crew was looking at Akron among other towns.
“Akron is such a beautiful, picturesque town, and the mayor and the trustees out there are so embracing of filmmaking, that they really are very welcoming and they want to show off their community,” Clark said.
The planned visit will last a few days. Krasinski and crew have a few more locations to check out, but where exactly is being kept under wraps.
“These are towns that could really be in a Normal Rockwell painting. They’re just beautiful, almost frozen in time kind of places,” Clark said.
