BUFFALO, N.Y.(WIVB) – Filming for the movie “Marshall” is wrapping up. Friday the cast said thank you to Western New York and everyone who welcomed them with open arms.
Actress Kate Hudson and actors Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, Sterling Brown, James Cromwell, Dan Stevens and director Reginald Hudlin all sat down together to talk about how much they loved filming the movie in WNY.
Hudson raved about the food..Some people said they spotted her at Hutch’s restaurant on Delaware avenue one night. Hudson also said she loved the fried chicken at Toutant on Ellicott street. People also spotted some of the cast at bars on Allen street.
Hudson said her mother actress Goldie Hawn took her to Buffalo in the winter when she was a baby. At the time, Hawn was filming scenes for the movie Best Friends with Burt Reynolds. Hudson doesn’t remember anything but said her mom told her it was cold! Hudson seemed happy to be here in the summer. Hudson said she loved taking a bicycle ride along Canalside on one of her days off.
Boseman, who plays Thurgood Marshall, said he was excited to see people in WNY get an opportunity to be extras or part of the crew behind the scenes.
Marshall is about a young Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Supreme Court Justice, as he battles through one of his career-defining cases.
A release date for the movie hasn’t been announced yet.
