GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — Starting tomorrow, lifeguards will be full-time at New York state beaches.
This comes after Governor Kathy Hochul announced lifeguards can earn $20 an hour, to help the staffing shortage. Training is also paid for by the state.
