UPDATE: News 4 has learned the name of the man believed to have played a role in the death of 49-year-old Renee Taschetta on Dumas Place in the Town of Tonawanda.
Taschetta was shot in the base of the neck with a shotgun, according to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn.
51-year-old Mario Turner Sr., has been arraigned in the Town of Tonawanda court.
Turner is charged with criminally negligent homicide and criminal possession of a weapon.
He’s expected to return to court on Monday for a felony hearing and being held without bail at the Erie County Holding Center.
If he is convicted, he could spend a maximum of four years in prison.
Taschetta and Turner were a couple who had two adult children together.

ORIGINAL: Town of Tonawanda Police tell News 4 a 49-year-old woman was found dead inside of 59 Dumas Pl.
Police say they responded to the call just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
They are investigating this as a suspicious death.
The investigation is ongoing.
Officials say there is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
