A Buffalo man who ate at a Cheektowaga restaurant in September is now taking the owners and an employee to court. He says he contracted Hepatitis A after he ate at Doino’s Pizzeria on Harlem Road.
A few months ago, Erie County officials put out a health warning about the restaurant. Officials confirmed they were able to connect three separate cases of Hepatitis A to the pizzeria.
Health inspectors told News 4, an employee with the disease failed to tell the restaurant he was infected.
The lawsuit, filed this week, claims the restaurant and the worker were negligent in preparing food, and claims the restaurant failed to properly train and educate employees on proper food preparation.
The customer, who is suing the restaurant, says they endangered his physical safety and caused severe permanent injuries. He says he also had to pay medical expenses. The man is asking for money for his medical bills and for his physical pain and suffering.
Owners of Doino’s Pizzeria were not available for comment.
