McMurray added to “competitive” DCCC ‘Red to Blue’ list

Nate McMurray, Democratic congressional candidate in New York’s 27th district, has been added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue” list.

The list consists of candidates the DCCC hopes will turn a Republican seat in the House of Representatives to a Democratic one. There are about 90 candidates on that list, which the DCCC calls “competitive”. The candidates receive fundraising and organizational support from the DCCC.

“It’s gratifying to have earned this support of the DCCC,” said McMurray, the Grand Island Town Supervisor. “It’s clear that they see what we see: our grassroots support is real and that we’re building momentum by talking to neighbors, getting small dollar donations, and standing up for what’s right.”

A Siena poll released this week shows that McMurray trails Republican incumbent Rep. Chris Collins 46-43.

“We’ve said it from day one. Nate McMurray is bought and paid for by (House Minority Leader) Nancy Pelosi’s Washington Democrats, and this announcement from her political organization is further proof of that.” the Collins campaign responded to the announcement Wednesday. “The more support Nate McMurray received from Nancy Pelosi and her liberal cronies, the more Nate owes Nancy Pelosi his vote for speaker.”
