Neighbors of Tricia Vacanti and Gary Sullo tell News 4 the couple’s home on Mountain View Drive in Lewiston is notorious for loud, out of control underage drinking parties.
One neighbor says she assumed the couple was never home during the gatherings.
State police however, say Vacanti and Sullo not only knew what was going on, they were providing the alcohol. According to police, the couple has teenage children and would host parties for their kids’ friends.
“They would just allow alcohol to be not only consumed but they would supply alcohol,” said Trooper Jim O’Callaghan.
Vacanti is also accused of smoking marijuana with minors on several occasions at the home. Along with their neighbor Jessica Long, the couple is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, both are Misdemeanors.
All three defendants have pleaded not guilty.
It’s also alleged that during these parties, minors were sexually abused.
A then-minor boy is facing a slew of sex charges, including rape. We’re not naming him given his youthful offender status.
A November civil complaint filed on behalf of victim ‘Jane Doe’ in Erie County State Supreme Court claims Vacanti and Sullo were aware that multiple minors were sexually abused by the boy prior to her November 2017 assault, which allegedly occurred at the Mountain View Drive home.
According to that civil complaint, the plaintiffs want a trial by jury.
Vacanti, Sullo, and Long appeared in the Town of Lewiston Court Tuesday night for their criminal charges; that case has been adjourned until Feb. 26.
The minor boy facing sex charges is also expected in Lewiston Town Court Feb. 26.
