The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Thursday regarding a violation of court order at 4252 North Ridge Road in the Town of Cambria.

Authorities say 33-year-old David Barber of Cambria was in contact with his estranged wife and threatened her bodily harm by text message.

Barber also stated he was going to harm himself.

An order of protection existed not allowing Barber to contact his wife in any way, according to officials.

Deputies responded to the residence at 2:30 p.m.

There they found Barber not following their commands to exit the home.

He eventually exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.

Barber is charged with criminal contempt and arraigned in the Town of Cambria Court.

He remains at the Niagara County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Barber is expected to be back in court on June 4 for further proceedings.
