21 more cases of COVID-19 found in Niagara County

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Friday, August 7

On Friday, the Niagara County Department of Health identified 21 new positive cases of COVID-19. The countywide total number of positive cases is now 1,492.

The county now has 52 active cases, with four people remaining in the hospital from the virus.

County officials say there are no additional deaths, keeping the toll at 99 and 1,341 people have recovered.

As of now, 57,173 people have been tested.

Thursday, August 6

The Niagara County Department of Health is reporting one new death from COVID-19, raising the toll to 99.

An 84-year-old man with underlying health conditions is the latest to die from the virus in Niagara County.

There are also three new positive cases, bringing the total to 1,471.

As of now, 41 cases are active, with four people in the hospital.

Officials tell us 1,331 people have recovered and 56,534 have been tested.

Wednesday, August 5

11 new cases of COVID-19 have been discovered in Niagara County.

With a total of 1,468 cases there, only 48 are still active. Of those 48, four people are hospitalized.

1,322 people who contracted the virus have since recovered, but 98 others have died.

A total of 55,202 people have been tested in Niagara County.
