Two people taken to ECMC following apartment building fire in Lockport

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB)–Several companies were on the scene of an apartment building fire on Robinson Road in Lockport throughout most of the evening.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office says the call came in at 3:32 p.m.

A witness told News 4 a person jumped from the building to escape and he saw multiple people being taken by stretcher.

Rapids Fire Department officials say two people were taken to ECMC, one was treated for smoke inhalation while the other was treated for an ankle injury.

Both are in stable condition.

The damage of the fire is estimated to be around $1 million. The Red Cross has been contacted to help those families displaced by the fire.
