No more “carsicles”- federal government to foot bill for new Route 5 break wall in Hamburg

The federal government will now pay the full price for the new Route 5 breakwall in Hamburg. 

Sen. Charles Schumer announced Wednesday that the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers and the NYS Department of Transportation have come to an agreement. 

The project is expected to cost $4 million. 

A timeline for the project hasn’t been announced.
