BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)– The National Weather Service in Buffalo announced a new snowfall record was set in the Buffalo region today.
UPDATED
The NWS says a record of 18.4 inches fell in the Buffalo area.
That total breaks the record set in 1956 of 10.7″.

The NWS says a record of 17.9 inches fell in the Buffalo area.
This total breaks the previous record of 10.7″ set in 1956.
The weather service will release a full 24 hour daily snowfall total the morning of December 27.
