NYCLU files new lawsuit over facial recognition technology in Lockport Schools

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB)–There’s a new lawsuit over facial recognition technology being used in Lockport Schools.

The New York Civil Liberties Union is suing the State Education Department. The organization says the technology violates student data protection laws and is both biased and inaccurate.

News 4 reached out to the State Department of Education for comment. They said their policy is not to comment on pending litigation.
