Peace Bridge lanes reopen after 3 years of construction

Local News

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) After three long years of construction work, all lanes of the Peace Bridge have reopened to traffic, effective May 15.

American Bridge Company conducted the $100 million dollar rehabilitation project which included complete replacement of the structural slab and structural steel replacement. 90 workers braved the cold winds off of Lake Erie for the past three winters.

Although some construction cones are still in place and work continues along the railings, there will be no further long term lane closures. The Public Bridge Authority plans a ribbon cutting ceremony sometime in June.
