A woman is dead after an early morning crash on Route 33 in Buffalo.
It happened near Suffolk Ave. around 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Police say a vehicle was driving westbound in an eastbound lane when it struck another vehicle, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
Road crew workers immediately tried to help the drivers, but two of them were hit by a third vehicle.
The driver who was going the wrong was declared deceased at the scene.
Buffalo Police say the deceased driver is a 28-year-old woman from Oakfield, NY.
The workers and one of the other drivers were taken to ECMC for apparent non-life threatening injuries. The third driver was treated at the scene.
Police are still investigating the incident.
