Police said this ATV was crashed intentionally into officers

Local News

A 40-year-old man is accused of intentionally running an ATV into two Buffalo police officers, both of whom are expected to recover.

Cornelius Caddele is charged with reckless endangerment and assault on a police officer following the incident Sunday, when the officers were on bike patrol for the Juneteenth Festival.

Police say officers saw the ATV being driven erratically near Fillmore Avenue and Best Street, and once the officers attempted to stop him, Caddele allegedly ran them down, hitting and even dragging one of the officers for several feet.

Both are expected to recover from injuries categorized as serious.

In the city, ATVs are only permitted in designated areas and on private property. The ATV has been impounded while the investigation continues.
