Internet giant Amazon seems to be on the verge of locating two new large warehouses in the Buffalo, but it is hard to say if Amazon is expanding into the area because officials have said the host towns are going along with non-disclosure agreements until Amazon makes it official.
Amazon representatives are eyeing property on Grand Island.. but plans seem to be a lot farther along in the Town of Tonawanda.
The only public disclosure of the developer for a 133,000 sq. ft. warehouse at the TM Montante Riverview Solar Technology Park in Tonawanda of is that it is for a Fortune 100 tenant.
It is being called “Project Bruno”, and the warehouse is a single story $25 million distribution hub that makes no mention of Amazon.
Another much larger facility is being eyed for a parcel on Grand Island, and those two facilities are in addition to Whole Foods Market in Amherst that is owned by Amazon, and a warehouse already operating in the Town of Lancaster.
