Rapper Kodak Black makes bail – his friends still in Niagara County Jail

Rapper Kodak Black was released from Niagara County jail Thursday afternoon.

He and several others, were arrested after officials found loaded guns and marijuana in their cars when crossing the Lewiston Queenston Bridge Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old hip hop artist, who’s real name is “Bill Kapri”and his companions are charged with felonies.

“One of the vehicles, Mr. Bill Kapri, was found to have a weapon in the vehicle and marijuana on his person,” said Jim O’Callaghan, New York State Police. Through that scenario, he had two other occupants in the car, all were arrested for weapons possession because it was unclaimed.”

Border officials say the rapper admitted to having those things in the car.

Officials say, they recommend that all motorists declare the items they’re bringing in the country when at a border crossing.

“So, what we tell everyone, is declare everything that you have in your vehicle, anything that you possess, and anything that you acquired outside of the United States,” said Kevin Corsaro, chief officer for Customs and Border Protection. “We do get vehicles, individuals traveling with weapons, make sure you notify the primary inspector that you are in possession of a weapon.”

All of the men were arranged at the Town of Lewiston Court and at last check, Black’s friends are still in jail.

They are expected to be back in court in May.
