Rep. Collins asking colleagues to approve Trump’s nominees for IJC

Local News

Rep. Chris Collins is sending Congress a message, asking legislators to help protect those living along Lake Ontario, but that could be a challenge.

RIght now, the International Joint Commission — the agency that oversees all bodies of water between the U.S. and Canada, is in limbo, with only two of its six seats filled.

Later on Monday, the congressman from Clarence will ask his colleagues to approve President Trump’s nominees to the commission so decisions can be made.

He says time is running out, as the harsh winter put the lake at greater risk for flooding once the snow melts.
